| Musical Notes Musical notes are notations that are represented by letters relevant to individual pitch. During the sixth century, the first fifteen letters of the alphabet were used as musical notes. Now, however, the letters A, B, C, D, E, F, and G are often used in this particular musical note order to show a rise in pitch and are known as ‘natural’ musical notes. Sharp musical notes often accompany the pound sign (#); A good example of musical notes, which most of us can recall come from the common music class lesson, simply sung as ‘Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do.’ If we were to sing this aloud to ourselves, we could easily adapt corresponding musical notes to each word: ‘Do’ would symbolize ‘C;’ ‘Re’ is symbolic of ‘D,’ and so forth. Musical notes, like in the ‘Do, Re, Mi’ piece are put together into a musical scale or tone row, and are typically represented by symbols that are placed at the start of the line or prior to the note itself.
