A little tidbit about Acoustic Music... Generally, acoustic music is music created with acoustic music instruments including acoustic guitars, banjos, cellos, mandolins, piano and voice. Many contemporary, folk and bluegrass musicians use acoustic musical accompaniment with their songs. However, acoustic music may also refer to instrumental music as well. In addition to acoustic singer-songwriters, acoustic music styles include bluegrass, blues, classic and country music. Popular acoustic music recording artists Elton John, Barry Mannilow, and Eric Clapton all use acoustic music instruments in their songs, as did Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, Jimmie Buffett and James Taylor. More recently, MTV's Unplugged show began segments with acoustic-only music presentations, which further expanded acoustic music's overall appeal with the general public. More recently, acoustic music recording artist, John Hammond, was nominated for his acoustic-blues song, "In Your Arms Again." Relatively, acoustic music is closely tied to folk melodies, and has often been handed down from one generation to the next, region by region. For example, in the southern area of North Carolina, acoustic music has a rich history and heritage filled with folklore. Some acoustic music in this particular area has transcended hundreds of years.
