A little tidbit about Classic Rock Music... What is classic rock? Originating during the late 1960s and 1970s, classic rock music was initially known as "progressive rock." WYSP-FM, a radio station in Philadelphia, coined the phrase "classic rock" in 1981. While classic rock songs and artists appeal to older adults; new generations of listeners are migrating toward classic rock, with its historically rich music.
