A little tidbit about Jungle Music... What is jungle music? Jungle music, often considered a sub genre of "Electronic" music is commonly referred to as "Drum and Bass." Culturally, jungle music finds its roots in Bristol and London during the 1990s. Instruments that often accompany jungle music include the drum machine; keyboard; laptop; sampler; sequencer and synthesizer. Known for its bass lines, jungle music incorporates a tempo of 160 -180BPM of drum and bass, which makes for superb dance music. Hip-hop scratching and "double-drops" may be integrated by a DJ to mix recordings, but without missing a beat. Overall, with a fast pace, jungle music is high energy and stimulating. Originating styles of jungle music include rave, break beat hardcore; techno; reggae and raga; dancehall; and funk. A little info on jungle music recording artists... Current jungle music artist, Brandon Miles (part of the duo, Analog Trust) recently released his debut, jungle music album in early 2005. In the summer of 2006, Rupert Parkes (Aka."Photek") is scheduled to release his jungle music album titled "Form & Function Vol.2." Renowned jungle music, recording artist, "Fresh" (Dan Stein) is a member of the group "Bad Company," and is not only a recording DJ, but a producer as well.
