A little tidbit about New Wave Music... Looking for new wave music? New wave music is often associated with a musical movement that occurred during the late 1970s and 1980s. While it faded out during the later 80s and 1990s, new wave music is revitalizing itself in this new millennium. Derived from alternative rock and other punk genres, new wave music is a form of "experimental" music that was originally considered punk. New wave music is comprised of several styles, including Dark Wave; Mod Revival; New Romantic and 1980s Electronic Music, to name a few. A little info on new wave music recording artists... Though new wave music bands were initially deemed "punk music." At one point in time, Tom Petty jokingly took credit for inventing "new wave music" because music media could not define his band adequately. Popular new wave music recording artists include A-ha; David Bowie; INXS; Pet Shop Boys; Simple Minds; Thompson Twins; Wham, and several other new wave music bands. Adam Ant, formerly of the pop group "Adam and the Ants" went solo during the early 1980s and enjoyed rapid success with his new wave music hit single, "Good Two Shoes." More modern new wave music bands like Goldfinger recently released their first album in 2005 titled, "Disconnection Notice."
