A little tidbit about Techno Music... Originating during the 1980s in a Detroit basement (by a group of African-American college students); techno is a type of electronic music that typically involves the instrumental use of keyboards, drum machine, samplers, sequencers and synthesizers. Since that time, techno has evolved into mainstream music and is heard around the world. Featuring various sounds, including sythetic and percussion; techno music fundamentally incorporates studio affects as its basic instrument. Mostly instrumental, techno music is composed by a producer who uses an electronic studio as his all-encompassing instrument. In addition to computer instrumentation, techno music may be compiled of various electronic instruments (including those mentioned above) that create unique rhythms and sounds. Techno also includes subgenres: 4-Beat; Detroit; Gabba; Ghettotech; Hardcore; Minimal; Nortec; Rave and Wonky. While techno only made its musical debut in the latter part of the 20th century, some well-known recording artists who made their musical mark in history are Boy George; Dido; Enigma; Pet Shop Boys; The Human League; and even some of Michael Jackson's music.
