Alternative spirituality is a diverse and broad collection of spiritual practices and/or movements that may or may not be relevant to orthodox religions and/or practices. There are multiple forms of alternative spirituality: Academic; Christian and Non-Christian; Secular; Pluralistic (Theory that more than one or more than two kinds of ultimate reality and/or truths exist); Aberrational: Heretical; Heterodox; Suborthodox and Unorthodox, and more.

Metaphysics may also be considered a form of alternative spirituality as it is the belief or study in the supernatural or unexplained phenomena. Some forms of alternative spirituality, in relation to metaphysics, include mysticism and occultism (Tarot, divination, runes, etc.).

Another unique form of alternative spirituality are the Jehovah's Witnesses. According to their belief, they consider themselves to be the only true Christians.

Alternative spirituality may include "Jews for Jesus," who believe in one sovereign God, and that Jesus is the Messiah. Additionally, alternative spirituality may include the belief in qi energy, healing prayers and ministries, and many others.
